As the proteomic technologies improve their sensitivity and resolution, the need of tools for storing and analysing the data generated in the wet-lab environment gets urgent. The combination of techniques like 2D gel electrophoresis, chromatography and mass spectrometry generates a vast amount of data that has to be adequately stored in order to enable a subsequent efficient mining. This database aims at solving this needs in a Proteomics lab.

Compluyeast-2D-DB is a Two-dimensional polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis federated database built with the Make2DDB package and integrated at the WORLD-2DPAGE of the ExPASy proteomics web server. It is currently hosted at the UCM Faculty of Physics' ArTeCS Dpt and mantained by the Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Microbiology II - Unit I headed by Concha Gil.
